Orka was founded in 2021 by Anthony White and Robert Hunter. After spending their careers in the building services industry, they wanted to build something different — a company that does things properly.
For them, it was simple: do the right thing, charge a fair price, and deliver work you can stand behind. That’s what Orka was built on, and it still guides how we work today.
What does Orka mean?
The name comes from Sweden, the home of district heating, which felt like a natural fit given our expertise in heat networks.
“Orka” means having the energy, strength, or stamina to get something done. For us, that’s exactly what it’s about: bringing energy, drive, and determination to improve how building services are delivered.

We’ve been on both sides of the table — as clients under pressure and as engineers expected to deliver.
That means we understand the real challenges: tight budgets, ageing systems, and residents relying on things working when they should.
So we focus on what actually matters:
We don’t just maintain assets. We take ownership of how they perform.
We prioritise fixing issues properly the first time and building strong, personal relationships along the way. That’s how you protect residents, reduce costs over time, and ensure systems genuinely work — not just tick a compliance box.
